Communication is an integral instinct of all living things.The most important bearings of communication are best understood when there is a lack of it.The following article discusses how important communication is and why it plays such a vital role in our daily lives.
There is more to communication than just talk and gesture.Listening,understanding and interpreting are as much integral to communication as words - verbal,written or gestured.Yes,even gestures in communication play a crucial role in conveying and interpreting the message!Similarly,how we communicate or express ourselves goes a great way towards determining how our expressions are interpreted.To quote Karl Popper,"It is impossible to speak in such a way that you cannot be misunderstood".Faulty or incomplete communication can completely mar the purpose of communicating and may result in damaging consequences.This is where understanding how important communication is and communicating the right way comes into picture.Not everyone is equally endowed with the ability to effectively express himself and this is where the significance of communication skills can be truly fathomed.Communicating the right way is equally important in every walk of like,be it in personal,professional or social life.Come,let's take a look at some major areas where right communication or a lack of it can have serious implications.
Ihave spent the last years, trying to resolve two enigmas: why is productivity so disappointing in all the companies where I work? I have worked with more than 500 companies. Despite all the technological advance – computers, IT, communications, telecommunications, the internet.
Enigma number two: why is there so little engagement at work? Why do people feel so miserable, even actively disengaged? Disengaged their colleagues. Acting against the interest of their company. Despite all the affiliation events, the celebration, the people initiatives, the leadership development programs to train managers on how to better motivate their teams.
At the beginning, I thought there was a chicken and egg issue: because people are less engaged, they are less productive. Or vice versa, because they are less productive, we put more pressure and they are less engaged. But as we were doing our analysis we realized that there was a common root cause to these two issues that relates, in fact, to the basic pillars of management. The way we organize is based on two pillars.
The hard—structure, processes, systems.

And whenever a company reorganizes, restructures, reengineers, goes through a cultural transformation program, it chooses these two pillars. Now we try to refine them, we try to combine them. The real issue is – and this is the answer to the two enigmas – these pillar are obsolete.
Everything you read in business books is based either two of the other or their combine. They are obsolete. How do they work when you try to use these approaches in front of the new complexity of business? The hard approach, basically is that you start from strategy, requirement, structure, processes, systems, KPIs, scorecards, committees, headquarters, hubs, clusters, you name it. I forgot all the metrics, incentives, committees, middle offices and interfaces. What happens basically on the left, you have more complexity, the new complexity of business. We need quality, cost, reliability, speed. And every time there is a new requirement, we use the same approach. We create dedicated structure processed systems, basically to deal with the new complexity of business. The hard approach creates just complicatedness in the organization.
Let’s take an example. An automotive company, the engineering division is a five-dimensional matrix. If you open any cell of the matrix, you find another 20-dimensional matrix. You have Mr. Noise, Mr. Petrol Consumption, Mr. Anti-Collision Propertise. For any new requirement,
you have a dedicated function in charge of aligning engineers against the new requirement. What happens when the new requirement emerges?
Some years ago, a new requirement appeared on the marketplace: the length of the warranty period. So therefore the requirement is repairability, making cars easy to repair. Otherwise when you bring the car to the garage to fix the light, if you have to remove the engine to access the lights, the car will have to stay one week in the garage instead of two hours, and the warranty budget will explode. So, what was the solution using the hard approach? If repairability is the rew requirement, the solution is to create a new function, Mr. Repairability. And Mr. Repairability creates the repairability process. With a repairability scorecard, with a repairability metric and eventually repairability incentive.That came on top of 25 other KPIs. What percentage of these people is variable compensation? Twenty percent at most, divided by 26 KPIs, repairability makes a difference of 0.8 percent. What difference did it make in their action, their choices to simplify? Zero. But what occurs for zero impact? Mr. Repairability, process, scorecard, evaluation, coordination with the 25 other coordinators to have zero impact. Now, in front of the new complexity of business, the only solution is not drawing box es with reporting lines. It is basically the interplay. How the parts work together. The connection, the interaction, the synapse. It is not skeleton of boxes, it is the nervous system of adaptiveness and
intelligence. You know, you could call it cooperation, basically. Whenever people cooperate, they use less resources. In everything. You know, the repairability issue is a cooperation problem.
When you design cars, please take into account the need of those who will repair the cars in the after sales garage. When we don’t cooperate we need more time, more equipment, more system, more teams. We need – when procurement, supply chain, manufacturing don’t cooperate we need more stock, more investories, more working capital.
Who will pay for that? Shareholder? Customers? No, they will refuse. So who is left? The employees, who have tocompensate through their super individual efforts for the lack of cooperation. Stress, burnout, they are overwhelmed, accidents. No wonder they disengage.
How do the hard and the soft try to foster cooperation?
The hard: in banks, when there is problem between the back office and the front office, they don’t cooperate. What is the solution? They create a middle office.
What happens one years later? Instead of one problem between the back and front, now have to problems. Between the back and the middle and between the middle and the front. Plus I have to pay for the middle office. The hard approach is unable to foster cooperation. It can only add new boxes, new bones in the skeleton.
The soft approach: to make people cooperate, we need to make then like each other. Improve interpersonal feelings, the more people laike each other, the more they will cooperate. It is totally worng. It even counterproductive.
Look, at home I have two TVs. Why? Precisely not to have to cooperate with my wife. Not to have to impose tradeoffs to my wife. Definitely, these approaches are obsolete. To deal with complexity, to enhance nervous system, we have created what we call the smart simplicity approach based on simple rules. Simple rule number one: understand what others do. What is their real work? We need go beyond the boxes, the job description, beyond the surface of the container, to understand the real content. Me, designer, if I put a wire here, I know that it will mean that we will have to remove the engine to access the lights. Second, you need to reinforce integrators.

by saying so, i do not mean we should give a sudden stop to any development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win.

But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and itsusefulness,but also because of my love for it. When I learn English, I can feela different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world. When Iread English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is differentfrom reading the translation. When I speak English, I can feel the confidentfrom my words. When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the sameas our Chinese...
I love English,it gives me a colorful dream. I hope I can travel around theworld one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people fromdifferent countries. I can see many places of great intrests. I dream that I cango to London,because it is the birth place of English.

Strength:

have you seen a film named titanic, i believe no one will shake head. it’s a film about how the ship titanic sank into the sea in that time. it is very exciting. but i am quite interested in the story of the film, jack and rose’s story. i can learn some deeper things from it.
after the ship hit an iceberg and sank into the sea. jack and rose and other people fell into the cold sea water. as the weather was getting colder and colder, they were gradually stepping into death. jack asked rose to promise him not to give up the hope of life. at last, jack was dead, and rose had a narrow escape, because she listened to jack and didn’t give up.
as for us, we will never be in the sank titanic and do not insist on waiting for the rescue of others, but, in reality, never give up is still necessary and much more important.

Have you ever heard about Warren Buffet, the second richest person in the world? Well, today I am not going to talk about him but his three kids.
For someone whose parent is such an extraordinarily successful investor, the three kids come out pretty ordinary guys. When they were young, they each received $ 10,000 a year. When growing up, however, they all found their lovely jobs-housewife, farmer, musician, instead of relying on their well off father.

现在有了月考，其次、四次别为期中和期末，时间的紧迫感一下子涌上心头。第三次月考刚过，还有一个月便是期末考了！

小学时有一段时间坐公交车回家，每次走在前往车站的路上摇摇摆晃，东碰碰、西玩玩，与同伴说笑。正说着，一辆1路车疾驰而来，傻眼了！我没命地向车站奔去，可车还是开走了。这时，我总会冒出一句：一开头就应当抓紧的，到了后面再赶也是赶不上的了。这一幕常常消失在生活中，而我也第一次将它用在了学习上。

今日又是月考的日子，刚一考好，心中开心万分，可语文教师说：”现在不是数八、九非常的，而是数多少个不及格！“数学教师说：”全班只有一个100分！“我的心又不禁提了起来，这也许就是初中生活的一把亮剑，随时随地地便告知你考了多少名，考得怎么样，自己是什么水平！
我要学会在这儿立足，哪怕有再多的月考。
人生路上，苦乐交错。在生活中，时时刻刻存在着喜怒哀乐。
时间过的真快，一转瞬，我变踏入初中一个学期了。这一学期的生活我过的很苦。首先，是学习成绩的下降，再一个就是感到生活非常的黑暗，几乎没有光明。
当踏入初中生活的第一步时，我对初中生活布满了向往，我把一切的一切都绘的那么的有声有色。
可是，这一切都随着段考成绩而转变。由于，段考成绩是灰色的，灰的快黑了，可想而知，这是一种多么可怕的结果啊。但是，路总不能停顿，风依旧呼呼的刮着。好像想要带去些什么，更要带来些什么。
自从吸取了段考的教训以后，我好像变的成熟懂事了。从前的`做事情的 丢三落四也变的井井有条了。
自从段考以后，我的生活便变的有序起来了，做事情也有时间和规律。那是一个早晨，正在梦中的我被“懒猪，起床了，起床了。”给叫醒了。我还在做我的美梦，睡眼模糊的我把闹钟关了，连续睡觉。
就当我闭上眼睛的那一刹那，闹钟掉究竟墒，“咚”的一声，打破了夜的安静。或许，我就是被这一声给震醒了。突然，我的脑海中闪出一个念头：人，应当说到做到，不要轻言，否则你就是一个无信的人。想到这，好像一切都溶到了我的实际生活中去了。我快速爬了起来，揉了揉睡眼。开头早读了。那一次，读的是那么的细心与仔细。
至今，我保持的仍是这种早起读书的精神。我努力坚持下来了，可是，这次的期考是否有好成绩，还要我自己去做最终的冲刺。

Good morning dear young fellows from suntrans, Today is my two months and two days celebration of working in suntrans. This is my first job, and I am very glad tohave it, and to stand here sharing my feelings with all of you.
Today my topic is a little bit long, it is,the happy days of my dear little young fellows and me spent together in our companySuntrans. We had numerous happy days together, and every day is memorable. Itis so long that if I share every moment with you, this meeting may last three days or even longer. So in order to give us time to work, to eat, to go homeand to sleep, I will only share three most memorable moments we had together.
The first memorable moment for me was thecompany activity held in May by our human resources Department. We played games together and had a great time. That day was my 25th birthday, but that is not the most important reason whyI remember it so well. Firstly, I learned our company’s history, and felt thatit is very difficult to start a business, and thought that everyone in ourcompany is very hard working. Secondly, I joined Maple’s team that day,although we almost lost all of the competitions, everyone was so happy andfriendly and my team made me understood the meaning of the phrase– “team spirit”.I began to understand and like our company after that day’s activity.
The second memorable moment for me was the birthday party held in May. I never had such a birthday party before, what’s more, my birthday is the same month as our General Manager Lu, and I felt very honored and grateful. I received a lot of warm celebration words from all of you and a lovely birthday card. I was so moved that day and had the feeling that I am a part of this big family. When I blew off the candles, I made three wishes, firstly, make progress in English, secondly, make progress in Japanese,Thirdly, do my best to become a good translator in Suntrans. I hope my wisheswill come true in the future.
The third memorable mmoment for me was The Second Experience Exchanging Forum of Mining Investment 20xx. This is the first time I took part in such a big conference, and I was very excited and willing to do something for it. We did work very hard for this conference, and even asked the Dragon Boat Festival to contribute. This conference gave me a great workexperience and taught me many things: for example how to do advertising and marketing, and a great knowledge in mining industry. The most important is, our young fellows’team work is very brilliant, and I love our company more thanever after this conference.
These are the three most memorable moments for me that I spent with all of you in Suntrans, I hope that we can create moreand more in the future.

Every one of us,rich or poor,should at least have one or two good friends will listen to me when I want to speak,will wipe my eyes when I cry,will take care of me when I am sick,and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.
As students,we could share more time with our friendship in our young hearts is pure,fresh and simple.I often feel very lucky to have a lot of good cially when I had Justin as one of my best in was my English teacher from the USA.I met him in 1996 when I was a student who could only speak very little in was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face,and he always had his special way to make the class active and taught us English by telling stories,playing games,singing songs,and even dancing.I could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class,we went to some other classes to sing songs for them,just like what people do in the states on Christmas was so interesting and in was an excellent teacher,because he taught us not only how to study English well,but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives.I know there was friendship and pure love in our ng this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important,the real importance lay in faith,under-standing,and in is the best friend I have ever had,and I know I will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.
Friendship is a kind of treasure in our is actually like a bottle of wine,the longer it is kept,the sweeter it will is also like a cup of we are thirsty,it will be our best choice,but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves,it is also the most fragrant drink.
Well, this is not how i expected to wake up this morning. after i received the news, malia walked in and said, "daddy, you won the nobel peace prize, and it is bos birthday!" and then sasha added: "plus, we have a three-day weekend coming up." so its good to have kids to keep things in Perspective.
I am both surprised and deeply humbled by the decision of the nobel committee. let me be clear: i do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but rather as an affirmation of american leadership on behalf of aspirations held by people in all nations.
To be honest, i do not feel that i deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who have been honoured by this prize – men and women who have inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.
But i also know that this prize reflects the kind of world that those men and women, and all americans, want to build – a world that gives life to the promise of our founding documents. and i know that, throughout history, the nobel peace prize has not just been used to honour specific achievement; its also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes. and that is why i will accept this award as a call to action – a call for all nations to confront the common challenges of the 21st-century.
These challenges cant be met by any one leader or any one nation. and thats why my administration has worked to establish a new era of engagement in which all nations must take responsibility for the world we seek...
Some of the work confronting us will not be completed during my presidency. some, like the elimination of nuclear weapons, may not be completed in my lifetime. but i know these challenges can be met so long as its recognised that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone. this award is not simply about the efforts of my administ
Tration – its about the courageous efforts of people around the world.
And thats why this award must be shared with everyone who strives for justice and dignity – for the young woman who marches silently in the streets on behalf of her right to be heard even in the face of beatings and bullets; for the leader imprisoned in her own home because she refuses to abandon her commitment to democracy; for the soldier who sacrificed through tour after tour of duty on behalf of someone half a world away; and for all those men and women across the world who sacrifice their safety and their freedom and sometimes their lives for the cause of peace.
That has always been the cause of america. thats why the world has always looked to america. and thats why i believe america will continue to lead. thank you very much.

My dream is to do myself e you will say it's so easy that you can do it right ly?
When I was young,I lived by a first,the river was very r several years,the river was covered with lots of my eyes,I felt very sad,removing the gabbage from the we all know,we can't do anything without water,and we will die,then the world will does it occur?That's only because we can't do ourselves well and throw the gabbage r that,I dicided to do myself well.
However,when I entered senior high school,I lost myself and forgot my a student,I was supported to study hard,but I indulged myself in surfing the internet.I hadn't even mentioned my dream before my mom asked me with anger whether I would stick to my dream.I felt very guilty ,and still remembered the look of my mom.I must insist on my dream,never give up.I'm sure I can do myself well.
Once going on the wrong road,you may not do youself ,would you still think my dream is very easy to come true?
first，l want to introduce myself to all of you.my name is gu shenzhong.i am eleven years old.now l study in zheshan primary school.
l like english very much.why?because l think english is spoken by many people around the world.ln our life,we can see a lot of english signs on the streets.so,study english is very important to us.l must learn english more hard.lf l don't know english.l can't catch more knowledge about the world.after class,l usually read many english books , watch english films and sing english songs.l want to be the bridge between chinese and foreigners.but l realize that what i learnt is too littlel,i must learn more and be better.
last,l want to thank you zheshan primary school and my dear teacher-miss qiang.she teaches me the culture of english county.
it’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my speech—change the world， change ourselves.
it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day， while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ，because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.
frankly speaking， i don’t quite agree with ed， we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. （examples） why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.
there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand， some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful， such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand，the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend，chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
with the further development of the whole world， the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations， but we are the citizens of the same world， so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture？ the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.
at last i’d like to share a famouse saying of gandhi with all of you ，that is：if you want to change the world， then you must change yourself first.”
This is a glass of water, tasteless, right? however if you add sugar, it will taste sweet, but if you add vinegar, it will become bitter. the same is true with our life the flavor is created by our choices.
If kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend; but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. if love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.
So my dear friends, never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. if don’t like the taste of your life, change the ingredients. three year ago, i weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrassment and frustration in my life. like always failing my p.e examinations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. it was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself. she said “ my dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. so i began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking. by hoosing to change my outlook on life, i developed the confidence to make a difference and finally i found a totally new world. so my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance are added to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges. and hopefully with my speech included, you will have a fantastic speech contest.
My definition of success
Today i am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. what is success? it is what everyone is longing for.sometimes success would be rather simple. winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now i am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.
However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. is fortune success? is fame success? is high social status success? no, i don’t think so. i believe success is the realization of people’s hopes and ideals.nowadays, in the modern society there are many people
Who are regarded as the successful. and the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. so most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. but the problem is wether it is real success. we all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. if we keep chasing them, where is the end? what will satisfy us at last? therefore, we can see, to get the real success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people’ hopes and ideals.
Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopes and ideas vary from one another. but i am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, ause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. these are the best treasures. so now i am very proud that i have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. it is my success, cause i raise up to challenge my hope.
What is success? everyone has his own interpretation as i do. but i am sure every success leads to an ever-brighter future. so ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful life!
