my great pleasure to share my dream with you today. my dream is to become a teacher....
As the whole world has its boundaries, limits and freedom coexist in our life. I don’t expect complete freedom, which is impossible. I simply have a dream that supports my life.
I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks and lead my own life. With my favorite fictions, I lie freely on the green grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last. Simple and short enjoyment can bring me great satisfaction.
I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and cartoon away. They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things. That’s the real communication of heart to heart.
I have the belief that my dreams should come true. I am looking forward to some day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast sky.

ladies and gentlemen, good morning! i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.
man’s life is a process of growing up, actually i’m standing here is a growth. if a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then i grow up along with these choices. once i hope i can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know i come here, now i wonder what the future holds for me.
My favourite season is spring.
Everything is very lively in the spring. The flowers are blooming, the trees are growing and the grass is turning green. I like lying on the grass and enjoy the sun shine in the park in the spring. We also can fly a kite, have a picnic, go on a trip or climb the mountain, but I don’t like to do those things, because they will make me feel tired. Some people like to go to the countryside, however I don’t think it is a good place to go for a rest. I don’t like the other season, because they are not very warm: summer is too hot, winter is too cold. While autumn is cool, it isn’t very beautiful.
Last year, I went to the Slender West Lake in Yang Zhou. First we took a boat to travel down the lake, we saw the Qiong flowers on the bank, and they were very beautiful. Then we visited the Five Kiosks Bridge, there were five kiosks on the bridge, and every kiosk has a long history. We sit in the kiosk and took some photos. Last we went to the Fishing Platform. Why do people call it ‘Fishing Platform’? Because the emperor called ‘Qian Long’ in Qing Dynasty visited it. We also fished in it. We had a good time in Yang Zhou.
Anyway, my favourite season is spring.
A general dictionary defines teamwork as a "Cooperative or coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together as a team or in the interests of a common cause unison for a higher cause people working together for a selfless purpose and so on."Applied to workplaces teamwork is a method that aligns employee mindsets in a cooperative and usually selfless manner towards a specific business purpose.
Today there is no business or organization that does not talk about the need and value of teamwork in the workplace. While the concept of teamwork and its benefits are well known and talked about it is very rare to see it being practiced truly in reality. And you may have often noticed what appears outwardly as teamwork is not really teamwork internally. Some things cannot be accomplished by people working individually. Larger more ambitious goals usually require that people work together with other people. Because of this teamwork is a desired goal of many businesses and organizations today. Projects often require that people work together in order to accomplish a common goal. Although critics often argue that in the corporate world teamwork has become an empty buzzword or a form of corporate-speak. Effective collaborative skills are necessary to work well in a team environment. As businesses and organizations become larger or more sophisticated. Many employers attempt to enhance their employees' collaborative efforts through training cross-training and workshops in order to help people effectively work together in a cohesive group and accomplish shared goals.
Human beings are fiercely independent animals and we will always have our own opinions and independent methods of doing something. This is the way our minds are hardwired by nature. Except for a very small percentage of us sharing and collaboration with others is not exactly programmed inside each and every one of us. This is because each person is mainly concerned about his or her rewards appreciation need for power over others and so on. But teamwork is a different ballgame that aligns mindsets in a cooperative and usually selfless manner towards a specific business purpose. And it involves sacrifices sharing of rewards sharing the blame and punishments true uniformity suppression of personal opinions etc. which is not very palatable to many. It is always "What is in it for me" rather than "What is in it for us.
In order for teamwork to succeed one must be a teamplayer. A Teamplayer is one who subordinates personal aspirations and works in a coordinated effort with other members of a group or team in striving for a common goal. Businesses and other organizations often go to the effort of coordinating team building events in an attempt to get people to work as a team rather than as individuals.
A 20xx national representative survey HOW-FAIR revealed that Americans think that 'being a team player' was the most important factor in getting ahead in the workplace. This was ranked higher than several factors including 'merit and performance' 'leadership skills' 'intelligence' 'making money for the organization' and 'long hours'.
“The old structures are being reformed. As organizations seek to become more flexible in the face of rapid environmental change and more responsive to the needs of customers they are experimenting with new team-based structures”.
Time on housework will be rewarding Being gradually aware of the significance in children’s involving in housework, parents are changing from a role of overprotection to a more reasonable level of encouraging initiative participation in household chores.
It’s inspiring and meaningful to see that children are no longer deprived of their rights to develop practical skills in housework, instead, they are given the chances to contribute their shares and are often rewarded with a spiritual fulfillment. Fortunately, I’m one of the countless teenagers who have benefited a great deal from this kind of perceptual transition of our parents.
I have frequently been encouraged to deal with cooking the meal, sweeping the floor as well as washing dishes since an early age of seven. And I am proud enough to take the responsibility of pparing a good meal when Mom and Dad are delayed by their work.
Thanks to their early realization and ever-lasting persistence in the cultivation of my independence, I have grown more skillful and willing to take my share of obligation either at home or at school.
Pushing the children on their way to housework is initial yet effective if parents tend to ensure a promising future.
My dream job will be working in one of the biggest international accountingfirm as an accountant. I want to be an accountant because I love mathematics andbusiness so much. Also, being an accountant can help me to explore my knowledgeof business and provide me a board range of network among the business world. Ineed to do a lot in order to achieve my goal. First, I have to get anundergraduate degree in accounting from college. Then I might either to gograduate school for a more advanced degree in accounting or get prepare for theCPA exam. With the CPA lisence, I have a better opportunity to get a job in theaccounting firm. Finally, with my experience in the accounting firm, I can applyaccounting position in the international accounting firm and to serve as anaccountant there!

Hold Fast To Your Dreams
I have a dream today。
I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted， every hill and mountain shall be made low， the rough places will be made plain， and the crooked places will be made straight， and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed， and all flesh shall see it together。
Wow， what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King。 But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up， and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams。
However， we meed dreams。 They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality。 They keep us going。 Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great。 When we were little kids， we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy， something significant。 Now what we need to do is to maintain them， refresh them and turn them into reality。 However， the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions。 Well， just start with concrete objectives and stick to it。 Don’t let the nameless fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of future。 Through our talents， through our wits， through our endurance and through our creativity， we will make it。
Hold fast to dreams， for if dreams die， life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly。 Hold fast to dreams， for when dreams go， life is a barren field frozen with snow。 So my dear friends， think of your old and maybe dead dreams。 Whatever it is， pick it up and make it alive from today。

New Year‘s Day is one of important days for many people in the world duringthe year. Most people spend the New Year‘s Day in hotels. January 1st isconsidered as the New Year‘s Day. Most companies, shops, school, and governmentoffices are closed during that time. People prepare for New Year‘s Day from lateDecember. First, people spend a few days to clean their houses completely. Somefamilies then put up some new painting from November to be sent in January. TheNew Year‘s meal is also prepared from the end of December. During the New Year‘sDay, people usually do not cook and relax at home. On New Year‘s Eve, it iscommon to have a bag dinner with family members or friends at home or in hotelsand hear bells which informs us of the coming New Year. On New Year‘s Day,people greet each other. Some people wear new coats and visit temples to prayfor happiness and health through out the New Year. Children are busy withgetting the gifts from their parents and relatives.

it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day, while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ,because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.
frankly speaking, i don’t quite agree with them.indeed, we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions.
but why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture.
there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend,chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
with the further development of the whole world, the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture.
A Young Idler,An Old Beggar
Almost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying：A young idler，an old beggar. Throughout history，we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.
It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life，during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition，one is less likely to be under great pressure from career，family and health problems when young. Therefore，a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.
Of course，we all know：no pains，no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us，it is impossible to achieve any goals. As students，we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future.
my favourite animal is tortoise. tortoise walk not fast. but i like the tortoise. why? because, tortoise is a cute animal. it has a short tail and a four short foot. it has a little head and a hard shell. there are forty-five little and cute tortoises in my home. they like to play in the water. when they afraid of some thing. they will run fast. they like to eat fish. i often buy some small fish for them to eat. they can catch the fish fast. first, they fake(假) sleep. when the fish swim near their mouth. they catch the fish fast and bit the fish's head. so, the fish die. they can eat the fish. in winter. they like to sleep in the sand. when they sleep, they don’t eat any food.because they will hibernation. but, when they are thirsty. they come out of the sand. so, we must give water to them to drink.
i love the tortoise. i hate the eagle. because, the eagle often eat the tortoise with it sharp mouth.my favourite animal is tortoise.

It is always an exciting day in New Year Eve as the majority of people in the world are in very good mood of celebrating New Year. There are numerous New Year parties around the globe where many children are re-united with their families, young couples are together with their newborns, grandparents are taking their opportunities to spend some quality time with their own children as well as grandchildren. And the list goes on and on.
Just what exactly is New Year Eve? In my own view, I think there are two sets of meaning.
First, New Year Eve represents hope and a new start of the year. Hope is important to mankind. The symbolic meaning encourages us to put all our bad luck behind us as we look forward to a fresh start from the first day of the year.
Second, New Year Eve represents bonding between mankind. This important day grants all of us a chance to stay close to someone we love dearly. As we spend time with them, perhaps, we ask them how they are doing lately, or we find other ways to show someones how much we care for them.
What else do we get out of New Year Eve? Joy is the feel good factor. It means we enjoy being with someone. And joy is something that money can not buy in this world.

i have the answer to a question that we've all asked. the question is, why is it that the letter x represents the unknown? now i know we learned that in math class, but now it's everywhere in the culture -- the x prize, the x-files, project x, tedx. where'd that come from?
about six years ago i decided that i would learn arabic, which turns out to be a supremely logical language. to write a word or a phrase or a sentence in arabic is like crafting an equation, because every part is extremely precise and carries a lot of information. that's one of the reasons so much of what we've come to think of as western science and mathematics and engineering was really worked out in the first few centuries of the common era by the persians and the arabs and the turks.
this includes the little system in arabic called al-jebra. and al-jebr roughly translates to “the system for reconciling disparate parts.“ al-jebr finally came into english as algebra. one example among many.
the arabic texts containing this mathematical wisdom finally made their way to europe -- which is to say spain -- in the 11th and 12th centuries. and when they arrived there was tremendous interest in translating this wisdom into a european language.
but there were problems. one problem is there are some sounds in arabic that just don't make it through a european voice box without lots of practice. trust me on that one. also, those very sounds tend not to be represented by the characters that are available in european languages.
here's one of the culprits. this is the letter sheen, and it makes the sound we think of as sh -- “sh.“ it's also the very first letter of the word shalan, which means “something“ just like the the english word “something“ -- some undefined, unknown thing.
now in arabic, we can make this definite by adding the definite article “al.“ so this is al-shalan -- the unknown thing. and this is a word that appears throughout early mathematics, such as this 10th century derivation of proofs.
the problem for the medieval spanish scholars who were tasked with translating this material is that the letter sheen and the word shalan can't be rendered into spanish because spanish doesn't have that sh, that “sh“ sound. so by convention, they created a rule in which they borrowed the ck sound, “ck“ sound, from the classical greek in the form of the letter kai.
later when this material was translated into a common european language, which is to say latin, they simply replaced the greek kai with the latin x. and once that happened, once this material was in latin, it formed the basis for mathematics textbooks for almost 600 years.
but now we have the answer to our question. why is it that x is the unknown? x is the unknown because you can't say “sh“ in spanish. (laughter) and i thought that was worth sharing.
Although winter means cold weather, I love it all the same. I think winteris a beautiful season, especially when it snows. Snowflakes fall down naughtily.They fall on branches of trees, on roofs of houses and on wheat fields. Soon thewhole earth will be dressed in white. Everything is shining in the sun. in our life, a lot of rubbish , such as waste paper, plastic bottles ,batteries and so on , is produced every day . after we learnt the passage make our environment more beautiful , we found a lot of rubbish thrown into dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discussion. so we thought it would be better if we could classify rubbish . we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much . we became volunteers to classify rubbish . firstly we got three big boxes and put them in a corner of our classroom . one is for waste paper , one for plastics and coke cans and the other is for batteries . with teacher's help ,soon all the students took part in the activity of classifying rubbish .in a month , we collected three boxes of paper , a box of batteries and a box of plastics and coke cans .we sold them for 28 yuan and bought some young trees with the money . we planted the trees around our school . we were all spoken highly of by our school principals. now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment .

three year ago, i weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrassment and frustration in my life. like always failing my p.e examinations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. it was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself. she said “ my dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. so i began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking. by choosing to change my outlook on life, i developed the confidence to make a difference and finally i found a totally new world.

Today I would like to talk about current environment situations which youcan see all over the world. While we are pursuing better ways of lives, moreproblems we are also making. Sometimes we only notice a unilateral aspect of thematter while ignoring its various functions. This kind of negligence, however,may cause serious problems that could be devastating.
It is said that one false move may lose the game. This is proved in ourdaily life obviously. As the economy is growing rapidly day after day,manufacturers are looking for more opportunities to gain numerous profit. Toearn more money, one way is to decrease the cost of the products. They movetheir factories to developing countries which can not only benefit them muchmore profit than before, but also those countries welcome them since they canhelp increase the countries’ GDP.
While it seems we can gain a lot from building factories to produceproducts, the shortcomings of these buildings are becoming obvious. Though atthe beginning, those developing countries did gain a lot of profit. As timepasses, people living surround the factories deposit industrial waste into theriver which directly leads to the influence of human’s lives. Fish died, birdsdisappeared, people moved, and we couldn’t imagine what would come next. Theseindustries also use lots of resources to carry on their production. Largeamounts of carbon dioxide are discharged, we all know the consequence of that,global warming—as one of the most essential environmental problems in the world,is becoming more and more serious currently. That the local government ignoredwas that these factories damaged their environment without any punishment butreception! They didn’t notice the negative aspect on this investment. What apity!
In summary, nowadays, businessmen are destroying our motherland—earth forthemselves. What should we do in this situation? Ignore them or try to take someactions on it? I believe all of us will choose the latter, right? So just do it,nothing is impossible.

Celtic believed that the sun god helped them grow crops. But each year thesun god is attacked by an evil force called Samhain and spent six months incaptivity. Samhain, and two other titles, "Lord of Dead" and "Prince ofDarkness", came to Celtic land with cold and dark winters.
The celts are very afraid of the night of October 31, because they feellike there's a bunch of evil souls lurking everywhere. They set fire to theirhome to let evil spirits leave their homes. (the last untranslated paragraph wasthat the flames could frighten the ghost away.) They believed Samhain had calledthe dead, and they believed that Samhain would turn the dead into somethingelse, like a cat. The celts will be disguising their evil spirits with terribledisguises. (this is the prototype for Halloween.)
Then Rome took over the Celtic lands and put the Roman holiday togetherwith the Celtic Samhain festival on October 31, and it was now Halloween.
I have many dreams, such as I am rich in the future. Therefore, I can buy all what I want. But my greatest dream is that I want to be an astronaut. Our country develops fast and our space make great progress in the last several decades. It has great achievements. All of our country are proud of it. Therefore, I want to be one of this amazing area.
In order to make my dream come true, I must work hard now. So that I can go to a good university to learn more knowledge. I hope my dream can come true one day.
