环境的英语演讲稿(精选4篇)
Good morning Ladies and Gentlmen :
My name is .It’s my great honous to speak here.I am the speaker of number 9. Today my topic is " Let’s take action to protect the environment . As we all know, The environment is getting worse and worse, In some places we can’t see fish swimming in the river or trees on the hills. Some people even have no clean water to drink. A number of people have been killed by air pollution and water pollution .Worst of all ,people aren’t aware of the danger of the pollution. So I think we should do something to protect the environment. .But what can we do? How to protect our environmemt?
In my opinion, we can go to school on foot or by bike. We can use shopping baskets instead of using the plastic bags when we go shopping. We can use both sides of the paper when we write . And remember don’t throw the rubbish everywhere. We can pick up the garbage when we see it. Remember to turn off the faucet. When we leave the room don’t forget to turn off the light.
If everyone takes action to protect our environment ,our shool and world will be much more beautiful in the future. DO You know? Today is world earth day.So Let's start to clean up now. Let's protect nature's beauty.Let's make our future bright.Thank you for your attention.
To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot.Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect theforest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protectiontoday.
In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even moreconcrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance ofenvironmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should bemade to put the population planning policy into practice, because more peoplemeans more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy theenvironment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them knowthat destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.
Human activity & the Earth
The quality of human life has improved greatly over the past few centuries, but Earth is being harmed more and more by human activity. As we develop our technology, we demand more from our planet. Eventually, this will harm people as well.
Our planet gives us everything we need, but natural resources are not endless. Strip mining devastates whole regions, leaving bare and useless ground. Deforestation removes old growth trees that can't be replaced. Too much fishing may harm fish populations to the point where they can't recover. We are too careless in taking what we want without giving anything back.
There are more people than ever, living longer that ever. So is it any surprise that many areas suffer from too much development? Anyone living in or near a city has experienced "urban sprawl". There is a new shopping area on every corner and new houses, townhouses and apartments everywhere. Traffic gets worse and worse because planners can't keep up with growth. Keeping up with human demand is hard enough. Environmental concerns come in last.
With growth comes pollution. Companies and communities dump waste into water. Landfills are full of trash. Emissions from factories pollute the air. Barrels of industrial waste and worse, radioactive waste, have no safe place to go. If we're not careful, we can harm our planet beyond repair.
People need to respect the Earth and try to preserve it. If we don't, what kind of future will we have?
We all know Tagore. This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.
Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? And just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures are amazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? If possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.
We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. For example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.
We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Be good to the trees. Smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze. Be friendly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”
